Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
I work vallet parking and got caught joyriding in a customers car the owner didnt press charges on the spot and the cop that showed up reported that there was no damage on the car so now I just wonder how long does the owner have to press charges against me.

A complaint can be made for several years. That being said, the longer time goes on without any action, the greater the chance that a complaint will not be forth coming. If you were not arrested on the night of the incident, it is very unlikely that you will be charged with a crime.
