Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

wrong address on search warrant

I was recently raided by c-net for an alleged drug operation by a associate that was trying to get revenge on myself for other reasons involing a female. The police raided my house and destroyed many of my belonging's to find a pair on nunchka's and a very small quantity of marijuana(less than 2 grams). Do to my profession these charges of weapons possesion and marijauna possession will cause serious consquences in regards to my career. However, after reviewing the search warrant which was given to me after the search even though it was requested as they busted through my door and detained me I found it had the neighbors address on it but my name. Do I have a reason for dismissal?

Re: wrong address on search warrant

Yes. The warrant is court authorization to search a specific place. If they searched a place other than named in the warrant, you should be able to get the evidence suppressed.
