Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
in new york i wiill probably charged a violation less than misdeameanor and ordered to do some
community service . I was told that if i do not complete the community service i could be held in contempt. Does this mean I could be sent ot jail. First placed in a holding cell and then taken to Rikers Island

Failure to do community service does not result in a contempt charge, but you could get 15 days on a violation for failure to do the community service and be sent to Rikers Island.
