Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
Youthful Offender
I was convicted of 2 crimes back in 1981 and 1982 and recieved youthful offender,do i have to reveil those crimes for employment? Also how long will they show up in Albany's Criminal Background Check Unit?

A Youthful Offender adjudication replaces a criminal conviction. Therefore, you can truthfully answer "NO" if asked if you have ever been convicted of a crime (assuming you have no other convictions). As for how long it will appear on a background check, I believe it will always show up.
