Legal Question in Discrimination Law in New York

Don't know if I need a laywer

I just turned 18 in Feb 21 and was charged w/ a misdemeanor when i was 17 in earlier feb '08. I recently started working in a new job and was suspended becuse an open case came up on my records. My legal aid is trying to fight to get it removed from my records since I was a minor and have no criminal records. My job told me I was suspended till I bring paper work stating that the case it closed and suggest I hire a lawyer to try to get it closed quicker. My next court date is on May 27, 2008. Is it worth me hiring a lawyer that may or may not be able to get me an earlier court date (since my actual one is only like 3 weeks from now) or should I just wait till May 27 ?

It can't hurt to get a private lawyer and it may help a lot. My office would be willing to look into whether we can help and how quickly. The Attorney you see should be able to tell you if you will be able to get the matter finished and how soon.
