Legal Question in Discrimination Law in New York
I'm a parolee released in May 2010. My Parole Officer referred me to CEO (Center for Employment
Opportunities), an agency specifically for parolees just released looking for work and getting on with their lives as a contributing member of society. Upon making my appointment, I was told by one
of the representative's to come with her and to bring all of my belongings. Once in her office, she
ask me to tell her about the crime I was convicted for. I gave her a brief discription, and informed
her that I have no criminal history. She then told that I am being denied based solely on my
Attempted Murder charge.
I would like to point out that there were ten others with me with similar or lesser charges who were
not denied their program. Can I challenge this in court as a discrimination case?

This is not the type of case that is ripe for judicial intervention; rather, file a written complaint (via mail) with her senior level supervisor.
