Legal Question in Discrimination Law in New York
Personal harrassment - bullying
I work in an office where one person has become a bully. My boss is not interested in containing this person, and I am the main target. I do have some proof, memos, etc., but mostly this person harrasses me verbally, and is in general, threatening. I dont think it is a police matter, but I have gotten no assistance from anyone in my workplace. Where do I go - aside from quitting my job, which I do not want to do. Do I have any legal recourses? I believe I am working in a hostile work environment. Thanks.

Hostile work environment
This is essentially a description of a hostile work environment. When you tell your employer, they should take steps to remedy the situation.
Whether it is actionable is a difficult question and you haven't provided much information. If you are fired then it would possibly be a retaliatory action. If you are a memeber of a protected class, and your employment is adversly affected
you may have a discrimination claim.
