Legal Question in Discrimination Law in New York
Prevention of employment
My wife stopped working for a NYC agency in 1990 after being assaulted on the job - she filed suit when the Union failed to support her after she won a Medical Arbitration, it was finally dismised via a loophole last June. During the last 2 yrs she has been looking for work; at every turn she has been turned down after a prospective employer contacted her last job. In no less than five instances this past Fall she was hired, told to report for work, then turned away. She had an exemplerary work record - a dynamic individual who is clearly being discriminated against as retalliation for her bringing a suit in the 1st place - what can be done to insure this stops?

Prevention of Employment (Blacklisting???)
Make up a dummy potential hiring source andhave them check her references. Should be averifiable business so as not to arouse theirsuspicion. Have your friend at the dummy sourceask them for references. DO NOT DO IT YOURSELF.
Make sure the person or company who does thishas no skeletons in their own closet becauseyou will need them as potential witnesses ata trial.
