in DUI cases is the vehicle thats being driven impounded, are you issued a summons, are you suppose to hear your Miranda rights before being handcuffed an taken to central bookings

Yes you are supposed to be read your Miranda rights, but as you are being charged with committing a crime you would either be booked and get arraigned before a judge or get a Desk Appearance Ticket with a future court date.
