dui charge statute of limitations

i was charged with a dui approximately 9 yrs ago in ny state and never showed up for my court date.Is there a statute of limitations that will exempt me from the charge or will i still be held accountable?

This is a significant problem. When you did not show up, a warrant was issued for your arrest.

It may be that the warrant was not properly recorded or that you have not been arrested and checked on the computer during this time.

But this will not be handled by the statute of limitations.

You will receive MUCH better treatment if you initiate dealing with this problem. If you are 'discovered', the court will put you in jail.

The best way to deal with this is to retain an attorney to arrange a disposition with the DA's office.
