Legal Question in DUI Law in New York

DUI suspension

I was working in NY and recieved a

DUI and a 90 day suspension. I am

not a NY resident and live in Texas. I

am finished with the project in NY,

and want to drive back to TX. Am I

allowed to drive back, and does my

suspension carry over into TX, or am

I allowed to drive in TX, since the

offense was in NY?

Re: DUI suspension

NY only has jurisdiction over the Ny DMV, so any suspensions would ONLY be on a NY drivers license that you would have... if you do not have a NY drivers license then you are clear to drive outside of the state of NY...

Subsequently, once the suspension is reported on the Federal level, Tx may then suspend your license as well, that will not necessarily happen immediately... and may not necessarily happen at all...

much luck... sorry for the lack of clarity - this is not a cut and dry issue.
