I am facing DUI charges in Upstate NY and in court yesterday my attorney told me that I have to stop taking a prescribed medication for fairly severe pain (15mg Oxycodone). I've taken this for years and I can't see how it is related to alcohol.
Sincerely
Timothy Pineo

When you are on probation, you are required to comply with both alcohol and narcotic restrictions. You will be tested regularly and could be violated for having any drugs in your system. You need to get your doctor to write letters to the attorney and judge requesting that you be allowed to continue to take a prescription medication while under the doctors care. That being said, the court and probation department can still say no.
