Can i sue someone for damage to vehicle???

After being pulled over and arrested for DWImpaired my car caught on fire as the police were in process of towing it. I am seeking a report from fire dep. but did not have fire coverage on insurance plan. Please Help!! Who is liable for this damage?? The car was fine before they touched it....

The police department may be responsible for the damage. However, you have to file a Notice of Claim within 90 days. Your lawyer for the DWI can probably help you with this. If you do not have a lawyer, please feel free to call my office at 212-622-7180 as we can help you with both
