Legal Question in Education Law in New York
NYS 3020a Tenre Hearing
The district I work for has brought
me up on charges under the 3020a
education law. They claim I lied on
my application regarding my former
teaching position in Pennsylvania 10
years ago. I was also sued in civil
court by a former student who won a
partial verdict(stemming from
allegations over 10 years ago in the
state of PA) There were never any
criminal charges file\d pertaining to
this matter. Other thenh defending
against the charges, do I have any
legal recourse against my school
district at this time?

Re: NYS 3020a Tenre Hearing
Based on the facts as you have presented them, it does not appear that you have a cause of action against the district. I suggest meeting with your union representative ASAP in order to properly defend the charges.
