Legal Question in Education Law in New York
retention
can public schools retain a child in middle school(currently child is in 5th grade) if they do not pass the state ela and math tests? Do the parent's have a right in the ''repeating a grade'' decision? or is it just the school's right to do so? We declined special ed services because they were ''ineffective'' in the past and the child's emotional/mental well being is more important to us.
