Legal Question in Education Law in New York

Scholarship tuitions

My son was offer a college tuition package which had a combination of both athletic and financial aid. This package offer was given to him by the baseball coach who retired last year. The coach stated that the financial package that was offered back in 2004 would never decrease in dollar value during his 4 years at the school. Due to financial changes in my income, my financial aid package decreased and the school is not upholding their end of the agreement that would off set this cost either with more athletic funds or any other means they have available. I've since brought this to the attention of the schools president and was referred to the VP of the school. In doing so I've been told there is nothing they can do since they didn't believe this offer has made. So I reach out to the retired baseball coach and told him of the situation and asked if he would get on a conference call with the VP to explain in fact this was the offer he made. Once again I reach out to the VP of the school and told him of the conversation I had and could he get on a three call to discuss the agreement, he said he would not. What advice can you give to rectify this injustice, and to enable my son to finish his education

Re: Scholarship tuitions

You may have a case against the university for breach of contract, especially if the former coach is willing to provide sworn testimony as to the content of the agreement.
