Legal Question in Education Law in New York

wrongful school actions

My daughter was hit on her head by her teacher a few months ago and we took care of the situation at the school level. Then the same teacher about three weeks ago but her hands around the back of my sons neck and we went a step further and turned her in to the superintendent and she was put on notice. For the past few days the teacher has been verbally abusive towrds my daughter in class. The school system wont do anything because there are only 2 more days of school left.Is there anything i can do?

Also my daghter (age 11) is diabetic and has had trouble being able to do her blood sugars, rushed out of the cafeteria without being able to finish her lunch, had difficult times being allowed on field trips because the school didnt want to be responsible for her.Her constant stress causes her blood sugars to elevate all the time.Is there something i can do about this?

Thank You

Re: wrongful school actions

You need to see a lawyer. The school system is responsible to keep your children safe from assaults by staff.

With regard to your daughter's diabetic care, ask for a special needs para, and if the school does not provide one, ask for private school placement at the school systems expense.
