My 85 yr. old sister is alone except for me.
She is showing sings of dementia. Because of the HIPPA law, her doctor refuses to discuss her prognosis with me.
I am her executor and health care proxy.
Is here a legal way for me to discuss this with her MD? I do not know how to help her.

Is the doctor aware of the health care proxy? Assuming it contains.the correct provisions, that should be sufficient for the doctor to discuss the situation with you.
