Financial exploitation of elderly
83 yr. old mother-in-law lives in ALF in N.Y. Son who lives close by was paying extra $300 a month not covered by mother-in-laws' pension. Now he has stopped paying and we think he's stealing her Social Security check and pension check. We live in California. Please advise on what to do first.

Why don't you try communicating with him to find out what's going on before jumping to the conclusion that's he's stealing?
Good luck.
