How much money can a senior give to her children, without the Gov't. demanding give back if she ends up in a home?

Re: Gifts of money
No way you can get that question answered on the bulletin board. There are dozens and dozens of factors which must be considered when talking about Medicaid planning. I know you think it's a simple and straightforward question, but it's not. You must be extra careful with researching on the internet too, because a law was passed in 2006 called the "Deficit Reduction Act of 2005" which significantly changed the Medicaid laws, and so a lot of the materials you find on the internet are outdated. If preserving mom's money for her children is important to mom, she needs to see a lawyer asap.
Good luck.
