If there is a lein fom medicare on my mothers house and she passed away do I have to do anything with the house or tell anyone?

Well if there's a lien on the house you can't sell it. Perhaps you can continue to live there and just pay all the bills as they come in, but eventually someone will catch on and Medicaid will force the issue. Maybe; a lot depends on the county you live in and how aggressive they are.
