My mother is terminally ill with Alzheimer's. She is in the final stage-non-responsive-memory all gone and not talking. What do I need to do to have legal authority over her affairs, etc...? I appreciate your help.

I'm sorry to hear about your mom. Are you referring to legal authority over her affairs while she is alive, or after she dies? If mom is probably going to die within the next few weeks it doesn't make sense to file Guardianship paperwork, which is what is required to have legal authority over her affairs. Is the hospital giving you a hard time?
