Pension question
My father received a pension from the Transit Authority of NYC. He recently passed away, what happens to his pension? Does it cease? My mother predeceased him by 7 years. What about the last check he received, does it have to be returned if it was deposited on the same day that he passed away. thank you for any information.

Re: Pension question
I am sorry for your loss.
Almost certainly the pension ends at death, but you need to call and see if there is some type of death benefit. Call them up and ask. If the check was dated before dad's death, it belongs to his estate. Shouldn't matter when it was cashed.
Good luck.
