Power of attorney responsibilities
My uncle was power of attorney for my Aunt.He cashed in U.S. savings bonds in my name and my Aunts name.My aunt told me about the bonds before her death. He never informed me that the bonds existed. Some were cashed in after her death(when his power of attorney ceased).I researched the bonds and was provided photograph copies from the US Treasury Dept of Public Debt. Was this illegal or a crime? What can I do about it? Thank you.

Re: Power of attorney responsibilities
Your Uncle may have cashed the bonds in after your Aunt's death as her Executor if he was named so in her will. If he cashed in bonds that were in your name you can bring an action for conversion in civil court. Would need to see your copies to advise further.
