An US and Romanian citizen with mild simptoms of alzeimer disease, decide to repatriate to live with her sisters. After 2 years in Romania, became seriously sick, and her systers send her back to New York. Police find her in the airport and bring her to nearest hospital. The hospital call her friend, and this person want to help to regain all rights in the US as Medicare, Medicaid and SS benefits, in order to be admited in a nursing home. If friend obtains a Power of Attorney what legal obligations have on this involtment?
The person in trouble, have no relatives, nor assets, no place to live. Presently she is in the hospital.
Please help me out with this information.

That is too broad a question to be answered without more information. Initially, we would have to assess the woman's capacity to see if she can even legally sign a power of attorney at this time. Feel free to call if you want a consultation.
