senior neglect
my friend took this old lady out of a nursing home and put her in a private house. she has been diagnosed with dementia and can not take care of herself. During the last two months, she has hurt herself three times seriously and been taken to the emergency room. He also convinced her to sign over $100,000 of her life savings, which he put in a CD. I'm concerned about her hurting herself seriously again, and want to help her get back into a nursing home. She's 82 years old, with diabtes, heart condition and early stages of Alzheimers disease. What can I do?

Re: senior neglect
Well, first you need to find a new friend.
Second, call the Orange County Office of the Aging at phone number eight four five, six one five, three seven zero zero, and get to a person who will have a caseworker assigned from the 'adult protective services' unit (or something like that). Make sure you get peoples' names and direct phone numbers, and keep following up.
Good luck.
