Taking Advantage of the Elderly
My husband's Uncle has been in my eyes conning his elderly mother (my husband's grandma) out of thousands of dollars for years. She had to get a reverse mortgage to pay for the debt she accumulated. When that money was gone she tried to commit suicide, thinking she would get life insurance money to help this uncle out. Is what this Uncle did illegal? Could he be sued for civil damages?

You should contact the district attorney's office in your county. They usually have someone to investigate cases of financial abuse of the elderly.
Good luck, and god bless.
