Legal Question in Entertainment Law in New York

I am an actor using a stage name and I want to know what is the procedure for being able to use that name officially (getting paid under that name, signing related contracts and release forms) without changing it legally or creating a separate business name (a dba)?

You cannot. Instead, I would form a corporation and do business under that entity.
