Booking artist through agent who cancels last minute

Hi I am an International Promoter and book talents for my Island Curacao. I have been dealing with an agent representing a Regeatton artist for moths, got confirmation per mail that all was fine for the date. So I went on designing promotional material and a full promotion campaign on radio's tv's spots, flyers, posters etc. Downpayment on Venue, equipment etc. The concert was suppose to be Oct 27th and he send me an E-mail today that the artist booked that date in Europe. What can I do ?? Everything gor printed TV spots are on...and my investment ?

You may have sufficient documentation to establish an enforceable contract. if you do, you can assert your rights in a court of law claiming that you have been damaged by the breach of contract. Even if you don't have an enforceable agreement, there may be other ways to assert your legal rights. You should consider what you have lost and whether it is worth hiring and paying a local attorney because the attorneys on this board deal primarily with US law.
