Legal Question in Entertainment Law in New York
legality of swingers party.
I was approached by someone to host a swingers party at my bar/lounge.
Having no experience in this matter need some info. Are swingers parties legal in NY?
Are any requirements for hosting such parties?

Re: legality of swingers party.
Although I'm not positive, I can not imagine that a swingers party would be illegal. There is no law of which I am aware which prevents people from sharing partners or which prohibits swingers from attending a gathering. However, I would recommend posting your inquiry in the criminal forum to be on the safe side.
Re: legality of swingers party.
Swingers' parties, per se, are no more than an expression of the First Amendment at its best (or worse, depending upon where you sit on the morality spectrum). That being put, there are a whole host of concerns and legal pitfalls you should consider before you take money to host a swingers party. Among them are the possibility that prostitution may occur, minors may be present, public health issues may be possible, public nuisance laws may be, well, a nuisance, and aspects related to alcohol. If you are prepared to host the event and you make a profit after your expenses, INCLUDING HIRING AN ATTORNEY TO HELP YOU STAY OUT OF TROUBLE, and you have adequate and professional staff to help and your insurance is in force, have a ball. Uh, sorry about that.

There is no illegality in having a swingers party and since they are usually very strict pretty discreed with inivitations and their guests (they usually are very adament about privacy issues) any liability you may have should be extremely minimal to none.
