Legal Question in Entertainment Law in New York

Negotiating the Deal

I am a producer in the process of manifesting an idea for radio broadcast. Two larger names with connections like my idea and have agreed to co-host this program. We have already logged in many studio hours constructing the prototype and a buzz has already generated a sydicator's interest. We are very close to deal time and I don't know how to protect my interest without upsetting this balance of egos. This is my production as an independant (I am not incorperated). Do I have specific entitlements? How do I protect myself? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Re: Negotiating the Deal

Negotiating is often an ego thing.

There is no easy way through, but through. Seek the

advice of counsel. Counsel should listen to you and

get the scoop on the players and deal points,

and help you formulate a game plan.

There are many issues to discuss. A consultation should

not cost anything.
