question regarding work for hire contract

I have a question regarding Work For Hire contracts.As a composer ( Non Ascap ,BMI or any other organization), if I write a score specifically for a movie under a work for hire contract,are all rights of ownership assigned to the producer of film company?

If it says work for hire and music is one of the supreme court's listed catagories of work for hire (and i think it is) then the employer (the film company probably) is the author.

While one would have to review the specific language of the agreement, if the agreement is intended to be a work for hire and those words are included my guess would be that you have assigned ownership. As noted, however, the actual language would have to be properly drafted in order for this to have occurred.
