Legal Question in Entertainment Law in New York
residual pay for a child
As a young child i was approached by a film crew who spotted me riding a bike. i was asked to ride in front of the camera. the process took multiple takes and many hours to complete. in the end i was not paid however the content was used and is now part of the opening of a very succesful hit TV Sitcom. I feel i should be compensated for the hours of work.

If neither of your parents ever signed a release, you may have recourse and be entitled to compensation. Email me with your contact information to [email protected]
Re: residual pay for a child
You should be compensated. It may be, however, that your parents were paid. Nevertheless, even if your parents were paid and/or the program owner decides to edit your image out you may be entitled to be compensated and this should be explored further. Please feel free to call me for a free consult. Most of my practice involves representinng clients in television.

did your parents sign a contract? did your parents have any communication with film crew... was anything signed at all?
while there are statutes of limitations on cases such as these, the age factor may be very important... how old are you now? what show is it? how old is this show?

You may be entitled to compensation if your parents did not sign a release on your behalf and you never signed anything as an adult. Please feel free to contact my office if we may be of assistance.
