Legal Question in Entertainment Law in New York

Statue

I was hoping to find out some information. I began my career in the music business as a intern like anybody else. But I was in a movie about six yrs ago, which the label was able to save enought money for production. At the time they was stuggling to make music. But now money is no problem, my only question is do I suppose to receive any money for serives. I have the credits that proves I'm in it

Re: Statue

You may have a claim against the film producers for compensation based on express contract, implied contract or in quantum meruit (for services rendered). It would depend on your employment status, who the employer was, the connection between your employer and the film production company and whatever contractual arrangements (verbal or written) you had with them regarding your appearance in the film. Without having this information it is impossible to give you any advice.
