Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I am 16 and live with my dad and step mom and they have majority custody over my mother. I'm very happy there, but have decided i would like to live with my grandparents because i think that is best for me.

I need more details to give you proper advice, but I suggest that you start by making your best case to your dad and step-mom, then getting your mother to agree. If you move in with your grandparents and either of your parents disagree with your decision, real problems could arise. As long as you're safe and well cared for, it's best to keep attorneys and the courts at a distance. But feel free to call me to discuss your case and the applicable law.
