Legal Question in Family Law in New York

yes my 7 month old and i are victims of domestic violence the persons is in jail at this time but is requestinng visit after he assulted both of us he has history of drug ,biopilor and siziphera what can i do to make sure my child is safe? right now im not feeling safe for me or any of my kids aand i fear that when he comes out he will attack me again. they gave me a restraing order till2014 but that only paper. please help

You should be able to get an order of protection through the Office of the Manhattan District Attorney's victim assistance desk.
