Legal Question in Family Law in New York
I have 2 stepsons, their grandparents on their biological fathers side recently sued my wife for visitation of my step sons. Their biological father is not in the picture and is no where to be found. They had been taking the boys for the weekend including overnights 1-2 weekends a month for about a year and a half. 6 months ago my wife told them she no longer wanted to do overnights because her separation anxiety was growing and she had been wanting to tell them this for the past year but didnt want to cause a fight but they were still welcome to see the boys everyother weekend for day visits. Needless to say they got very angry at her and yelled and screamed alot so she broke contact with them. No we are in the middle of a court battle, they still want overnights every other weekend and were still offering day visits. However we are planning on moving to Florida in a month, can the courts stop us from moving so that their grandparents can have visitation? or will they have to come to florida to see the boys?

If you are in the middle of a court battle and you pick up and leave a month from now that will be problematic. I suggest that you sit down with a family law attorney before the next court date.
