Legal Question in Family Law in New York

my 17 year old daughter has recently moved out of her mothers house and got an apartment of her own and i am court ordered to pay child support what can i do and am i still responsible to pay child support?

You would still be responsible to pay child support until the Family Court grants an order emancipating the 17 year old. Therefore, I would petition the Family Court to cease paying child support.

You might want to consider having your child declared emancipated.

You might also petition to have your payments modified.
