Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Have an 18yr who used to live with us part time (50/50), but doesn't like our house rules so went to stay with mom. Is not following mom's rules and has been arrested twice in one day (stole from a department store, and harrasment of his girlfriend). Can we get him emancipated since he will not follow any rules or even come and speak to us. We pay child support and that is not the isssue, we are concerned since he is going to end up crippling us financially by doing something stupid.

He is a legal adult. Child support is until 21 unless he moves out or gets a full time job. Then he is considered emancipated.
