Can I adopt her?

My girlfriend has a 4yr old daughter.I've been in her life since day 1.Can I adopt her?DNA has been done to find her bio-father.He pays child support but he has not seen her since she was 2 (when he found out).He's willing to let me adopt her but can it be done?

Yes, it can be done. You should consult with an attorney who can discuss all of the relevant factors and advise you on the legal consequences of adoption. Depending on the circumstances, the biological father's consent may not even be required. The father's consent will, of course, increase the likelihood that the adoption is granted.
