adoption of adult

Can an indiana court grant an adult adoption if the adoptee (23 resident of indiana) but the adopting parent lives in new yorK? or will the action need to take place in new york

This is a novel question> I believe that the adoption would have to take place in New York, the residence of the adopting parents.

For example, if a small child is a resident of England, and wants to be adopted by New York residences, it can only happen in New York

Hi, the adoption case is filed where the adoptive parent resides, so in this case it would be in New York.
