Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Adoption and Dual Citizenship

I was adopted in Queens many years ago. My question is simple, but I am sure the answer will not. Anyway, I have been told that my natural mother and father were ''off the boat'' immigrants. One from Italy and one from Ireland, respectively. I would like Dual Citizenship, but I am unable to prove who my birth parents are, much less what country they came from. Any ideas and advise would be great!

Re: Adoption and Dual Citizenship

With a legal adoption you lose the legal rights of your former biological parents and you gain the rights of your adopted family.
