Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Adoption By My Spouse

I am married to a woman, we have a lesbian relationship. I want to know how she can adopt my daughter. The father has never been apart of her life and I want her to legally be my wife's. If that isn't an option, then what can I do to make sure if something happens to me she has full custody? What can I do? Thank you for your time!
