Affadavit of Defendent

Wife's attorney put down abandonment without wife's consent as grounds. Grounds should really be based on having a separation agreement for one year. Is it ok to sign the affadavit anyway in order to get the divorce going and finished? Will abandonment hurt me in the end? Wife and I both agreed to separate.
