Legal Question in Family Law in New York
Annulment
I was married in manhattan's city hall on August 2, 2007 and then moved to florida, I came back to new york, on February 17. 2009 I then tried to get a divorce from my husband, but I was told I have to be living in new york for a year, first in order to be considered a new york state resident, does the same hold true if I wanted to get my marriage annuled?

Re: Annulment
No.
However, you do need grounds for an annulment.
There are ways to avoid the one year waiting period, which may or may not work, depending upon your circumstances. If you'd like to arrange a consultation, please feel free to get in touch.
