Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Anulment or Divorce in Dominican Republic

My friend (a US citizen) married a man in the dominican Republic this past summer. Later on she found out he did not love her and had only married her fo a green card. How can she go about getting a divorce or anulment, can it be done here in the states or does she have to go to DR to do it.

Whether or not she can file for divorce/annulment in New York depends on whether they lived here together, whether she lives here and for how long, etc.

Yes, she may be able to get divorced here if she meets certain residency requirements. Feel free to call or email me for further details.
