Legal Question in Family Law in New York

my name is arisa and i was currently living in georgia with my fiance for about 8 months. im 17 and 6 months pregnant and i currently decided to move back to ny with my family. Will the father of my child have any rights to make me come back if he does not decide to move to ny with me? Or what will happen?

First, if you don't put your fiance's name on the birth certificate in the hospital, place the name as unknown, he would have to go to court to prove paternity but there is a flip side to this and that is you would have a problem getting child support. Not impossible but difficult. By the time that he is able to get an action together, do a paternity test and get a judge to rule, you should be at the 6 month mark and get New York to keep the child here.

You should get an attorney once you get into New York to keep your situation in proper perspective.
