Asset Distributon re Divorce

My friend's husband inherited a large sum of money from his aunt. They are divorcing, married 35 years and live in NY State. He put the money in his name only. Will he be able to keep this separate from the marital assets.

Yes. Inheritance, kept in separate account in his sole name, is his separate property.
