Legal Question in Family Law in New York
attorneys fees/judgements
in a family court case 3 years ago where my wife was the plaintiff and her ex-husband was the defendant there was a judgement against him for a few thousand dollars in favor of my wife. she has not recieved any of these funds. nor was she really aware of this judgement until recently when her ex brought it to our attention. how does my wife find out what the judgement is for, if it is truly owed to her, and if it isn't owed to her if she were to file a satisfaction of judgement concerning it would she be held liable if it were owed to someone else?

She should go to court clerk and request to see her file and/or copy of judgment.
If $$ wasn't owed to her she wouldn't have received a judgment.
