Back child support

What role does having $30,000 in deliquent child support from first realtionship play in a custody battle for children in a second relationship?

Most attorneys for the other party will certainly use this fact as a reason for denying custody. You would have to have a very good reason as to why the amount was so high as well as an explaination as to why you have not begun to pay off this debt before most judges would consider you a parent that should be awarded custody.

I cannot imagine a judge granting custody to a father that tthe judge perceives as a deadbeat dad if there are extenuating circumstances they should be compelling
